Camborne Ladies Darts Marathon 2011

Camborne Ladies Dart’s League took part in a Sponsored Darts Marathon organised by the Camborne Redruth & District Lions Club on Feb 2nd at the Blaythorne Club Camborne.

Every year the ladies Darts League in conjunction with the Lions raise money for charity and this year the recipient will be the Camborne branch of Choice.

‘Choice’ is a pioneering provision for adults with learning difficulties living in the Camborne area and subscribes to the belief that people with learning difficulties have the right to a locally based person centred provision that will increase their choice and opportunities in all aspects of their daily life including evenings and weekends.

Five teams, Holman’s A and B, Heathcoat’s, Pendarves and the Countryman took part in a 2 hour ‘Doubles Marathon’ adjudicated by the Lions.

The winners, and money raised by this event will be made known at the Camborne

Ladies Darts league presentation night on 30th March when in addition to the League Trophies being handed out the Lions will present the Marathon winners and highest sponsorship winners with the Lion’s perpetual shield and a new dart board.

All teams will receive a Lion’s appreciation certificate that will include the team photo, amount raised and doubles scored.

The Camborne Redruth and District Lions would express their sincere thanks to all the Ladies who took part in the competition and in particular to Sue Shepherd (League Chairperson) and to Margaret Morcom (Pendarves) who helped to organise the raffle that raised a £100 on the night.
