Easter Egg Hunt 2010
After a wet and windy start to the weekend, the skies cleared and the sun came out just in time for this year's great Easter Egg Hunt!
Although registration didn't start until 1 o'clock many families arrived early to enjoy the sunshine.
By 2 o'clock over 300 children had registered and were eager to begin searching for the buried eggs with their families.
The popularity of the Easter Egg Hunt was such, that it only took the under 5's section about 10 minutes to find all buried eggs. The older children took a little longer to find all of their eggs but all the children seemed to enjoy themselves.
For those children who were not lucky enough to find a buried egg they were offered an Easter Egg for their efforts.
The proceedings were excellently compared by our very own Ken Polkinghorne who did a wonderful job of keeping everyone informed.
After the Easter Egg Hunt had finished, the traditional raffle was drawn by Lion President Jimmy Winn. The lucky winner 'Danny' is pictured below holding his prize.
This year's Easter Eggs were kindly donated by the owner of the Portreath cafe and we would like to thank him for his very generous donation which made a lot of local children very happy.
