Redruth Fun Day 2010

On the 1st August rain settled over Redruth Victoria Park the venue for Redruth Fun Day which was organised by the Camborne Redruth & District Lions club and sponsored by Redruth Town Council.

 Lion Paul Bray, the organiser of the event said that in spite of the weather a crowd exceeding 400 people turned out. They were able to sample the delights that were on offer from the 38 stalls, listen to and watch the entertainment provided and take part in the various fund raising events.

 Lion President Derek Canham welcomed the Mayor of Redruth, Councillor Ian Thomas, who then officially declared the Fun Day open.

 Entertainment throughout the day was provided by Peninsula Radio, Redruth Town Band, RedYouth Dance Group, ROAST ‘A Chorus Line’ Singers, The Sky Liners and Freddie Zapp.’

 Special Lion thanks to Judy & Tony Sciascia, Brian Saundry, Martin Bray for their help throughout the day and of course to the public who turned up to make the day worth while .

Proceeds are to go to ‘Choice’ a daytime service provider at Green Lane Chapel in Redruth for adults with learning disabilities.
