Tide Race 2010

We set up our gazebos to house our book stall  on the beach at approx 8.30am--not a great deal of people around then but it was sunny but very windy. Team registration started at 1 pm (entry fees have not been increased since the 1st Tide Race) and digging started at 3pm. At 4.40pm it was all over and the winning teams (see attached) were presented with the shields and a cash prize of £20 by Lion President Derek Canham. Throughout the day music and a Tide Race commentary was supplied by Peninsular Radio.

  • 50 teams entered the Tide Race - an event record
  • 220 people took part in the dig -an event record
  • 28 adult teams
  • 7 teenager teams
  • 15 children's Teams

To raise money for our charity account we had a beach raffle, book sales (all books 25p each 5 for a £1) and of course entry fees.
