The Tide Race 2011

We had a fantastic Day. The weather was overcast in the morning with a sprinkling of rain but the afternoon was quite sunny and warm but a little wind causing the sea to be choppy.---just right for sand castle building.

We went down on the beach at 8.30pm Sunday (28th Aug) morning and set up camp before the holiday people arrived.

We sold second hand books from our gazeboes on the beach and also from  the car park wall. Peninsula Radio hosted by Phil Harris entertained the beach population throughout the day, RedYouth performed their dance routines and the lions held a beach raffle to supplement their income.

138 diggers took part in the Tide Race (15 men's teams, 2 Ladies Teams, 7 Teenagers Teams and 7 children's teams,

Copy of our winner's sheet in j peg format is attached together with  a Tide Race explantion and a list of our sponsors. If possible we would be very happy if you could give our sponsors a mention.

MONEY RAISED from raffle, 2nd hand books and entry fees.(£1 adults, 50p teenagers & 30p children) was a magnificent £574 that will go into our Charity Account.
