About Lions International
Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization. We have 1.35 million members in more than 46,000 clubs worldwide.
Lions are everywhere. We’re men and women who are active in community projects in more than 206 countries and other geographic areas.
Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness –it’s part of our history as well as our work today. But we also volunteer for many different kinds of community projects – including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled.
Lions are local. The Camborne and Redruth Lions Club have helped a huge number of local groups, charities and individuals from the ‘Precious Lives Appeal’ and ‘The Marshall Jansen – Handstand Appeal’ to ‘Red Youth’ and Choices in Redruth and Camborne. All Lions Club members are volunteers and every penny we raise goes directly to charitable and other good causes.
Local Community Projects
Lions are active. Our motto is “We Serve.” Lions are part of a global service network, doing whatever is necessary to help our local communities.
Local Charities. The Camborne & Redruth Lions Club is passionate about helping our local community which means we have regurlary supported other charities like The Air Ambulance, Childrens Hospice South West, CAAP, Penhaligon’s Friends, St. Julias Hospice as well as supporting individuals that have needed our help.
Lions serve youth. We often support local children and schools and have funded meals for children during school holidays and run a Youth Achievement Award which recoginises the good work our local youth do in our community. We have also sponsored children to help them with their development whether it be in sport or community work.
